Andries Willemse: "As a Christian it's my belief that we who are fortunate must help the less fortunate. It says so in the Bible and that is what I have been taught through my faith."
Winter is almost here, and it’s safe to say it’s going to be a cold one. We asked Newcastillians why they thought it was important to help the less fortunate during the frosty winter season. Here is what they said:
Bernadette Mitton: "I think it is important to help the less fortunate, because one day if I were to find myself in such a situation, I would want someone to help me." Thandeka Mthembu: "There are people who are cold and hungry because they don't have anything, and we as residents should help them. Carmen Alexander: "I think this is going to be a very cold winter, and there will be days where some people have nothing. We should help the less fortunate with blankets and food so they can at least stay warm. Delly Sikhosana: "It is important to help the less fortunate because no one can survive without warmth or food."
