Support our hockey stars this weekend

Be sure yo make your way down to Ferrum High School to catch the action.

In case you have not heard, this weekend is the Natal Country Districts Tournament.

This is a first for host Northern KwaZulu-Natal, as in the past, the district forfeited the opportunity to host the event.

However, this year, the Newcastle Hockey Club has partnered with Ferrum High School to ensure the event is a thriving success.

The tournament is an annual hockey event which is played between Northern Natal, the Midlands and Zululand.

Each district has two teams representing the district, and games began at 9.30am this morning, so be sure to make your way down to the Ferrum High School field to view the action.

“We want to encourage the community of Newcastle to come and watch hockey being played at this level and to support our local Northern Natal sides,” said hockey club committee member, Candice Bond.

Food and entertainment from Team Osaka Hockey SA is guaranteed to keep a smile on your face, and there is an inflatable Osaka field for children to enjoy.
