The Newcare Women’s Circle (NWC) is an organisation known for its unconditional love and devotion to Newcastle.
On April 4, the group of women gathered at the Lennoxton Library to distribute canned goods and other food items, which they donated to Nil Desperandum.
The 50 women from NWC spent the last few weeks collecting non-perishable food items to hand over as a donation to the Association for the Physically Challenged (Nil Desperandum).
According to Jasmine Roy, chairperson of the NWC, the group felt it was appropriate to give back to the organisation, especially since April 2 was National Autism Day.
“It is important for us to support organisations that care for disabled people in Newcastle, which is why we decided to do this donation,” explained Roy.
According to Roy, the NWC is particularly fond of projects like these because the members get a chance to show their love for those who are sometimes forgotten.
She further said the women were very willing and eager to get involved.
“We would like to thank everyone who was involved with the project and all those who contributed. This organisation would not have been able to be as successful with just me, so I personally would also like to thank all the women who help me each time we have to take on a project. With your help and by the grace of God, the Newcare Women’s Circle can grow stronger, and contribute even more in the future.”
