Boys dominate at inter-school preseason hockey tournament

Dundee High School dominates the field over Ferrum High School's second team.

St Dominics Newcastle hosted the fourth annual pre-season boys hockey tournament on Friday, March 23 and Saturday, March 24.

Teams from Northern KwaZulu-Nata participated in the tournament with the aim of being crowned the champions of Northern KZN.

The tournament also provided an opportunity for the under-18 boys hockey teams to prepare for the 2018 hockey season ahead.

The top four winning teams of the tournament were as follows:

In first place was St Dominic’s Newcastle, followed by Dundee High School in second place.

Ferrum High School scooped third place, with Sarel Cilliers High School finishing fourth.

St Dominics Newcastle has successfully managed to win the trophy for the third time. Well done!

Muzi Shabangu of St Dominics Newcastle was awarded the prize for Best Striker of the tournament and Ming-Ming Gu of Ferrum High School was awarded for being the Best Goal Keeper of the tournament.
