A 21-year-old man has been arrested for the brutal and senseless murder of an 18-year-old teenage boy at the Siyahlala-la Informal Settlement which occurred on Saturday, December 16.
According to Newcastle SAPS Corporate Communications and Liaison Officer, Captain Jabulani Ncube, the body of the youngster was found in a ditch along a dirt road at around 10.10pm.
“The victim was stabbed several times with an Okapi knife on his right rib cage.”
Capt. Ncube confirmed the Okapi knife was also found at the scene of crime.
Newcastle SAPS Detectives worked tirelessly and around the clock to ensure the suspects were brought to book.
To this effect, the ever hard-working “B ” Group attached to Crime Office, and led by Captain Shabir Ismail,Warrant Officer Viren Mahabeer, Sergeant Eric Imam and Constable Siboniso Mpanza, once again proved the saying: “You can run but you cannot hide from the law.”
