Madadeni High Court convicted and sentenced 28-year-old Sabelo Mkhwananzi, to life behind bars for the brutal murder of Lieutenant Aron Khoza.

According to Captain Simphiwe Mhlongo of the HAWKS, the murder occurred in Madadeni on October 12, 2014.

“Mkhwananzi fatally stabbed Lt. Khoza and robbed him of his firearm, before fleeing the scene.”

An intensive investigation was conducted and Mkhwananzi was positively linked to the murder whilst being detained for a separate criminal case.

He first appeared in the Madadeni Magistrate’s Court on September 8, 2016, and then again on September 28 2016.

Due to circumstances, the case was postponed on several occasions, until Mkhwananzi was successfully tried, convicted and sentenced on November 10.
