PHC management has given its response to complaints from patients.

Primary Health Care (PHC) Clinic management has broken its silence.

Chairman of the board, Bheki Zikalala addressed growing concerns from patients during a site visit last Wednesday.

These concerns included missing files and victimisation by PHC staff.

However, Zikalala believes all was not as it seemed.

He explained the clinic saw an average of around 9 000 per month; patients with appointments were given first preference.

“We have patients from Ladysmith, Volksrust, Madadeni and oSizweni. We can’t chase them away because we are a government institution.”

For his full response, be sure to read the article in this week’s edition of the Newcastle Advertiser.
