MUST READ: SAPS investigate two murders

Madadeni SAPS are investigating a murder.

Madadeni SAPS is investigating two brutal murders, following the deaths of a 21-year-woman and a 39-year-old man.

The first incident occurred in Blaauwbosch on October 5, where police were requested to investigate the murder of a woman.

“She had suffered multiple injuries and sustained a fractured skull,” said Newcastle SAPS spokesperson, Captain Jabulani Ncube.

According to Captain Ncube, the circumstances surrounding her death were unclear.

“She had come home at midnight, but before she could explain what had happened to her, she collapsed. Her brother then took her to Rosary Clinic in oSizweni, where she died upon arrival.”

It is believed her assailants attacked her with a sjambok and then hit her on her head with a hard object.

No suspects have yet been arrested, although Captain Ncube confirmed investigations were continuing.

The second incident took place on the same day at Lister Farm, Madadeni, where six men allegedly stabbed their 39-year-old victim to death.

“On Thursday morning at about 1am, neighbours heard a loud banging on the victim’s door. Minutes afterwards, they heard the deceased crying for help,” said Captain Ncube.

When they investigated to see what the problem was, they saw six men fleeing the house.

“One of the neighbours went inside the victim’s home and found him bleeding profusely, having been stabbed multiple times. The ambulance was contacted, but the victim died at the hospital.”

If anyone has information regarding either of the two incidents, contact the Madadeni SAPS on 034 32 6643 or Crime Stop on 086 001 0111.
