MUST READ: Two people gunned down near Theku Plaza in oSizweni

A taxi official was gunned down in Newcastle on Sunday night.

Two people died in a shooting which occurred near Theku Plaza, oSizweni on Sunday (August 27).

According to police, the incident took place at around 6.30pm near the oSizweni policing area.

The two victims have been identified as a father and son, aged approximately 50 and 30 years respectively.

Both victims are believed to have resided in the Estcourt area. It is alleged they were visiting one of their family members in oSizweni when they were gunned down.

“No arrest has been made thus far,” said Communication and Marketing Officer, Lizzy Arumugam.

It is believed the suspects were travelling in a red/maroon sedan car.

“The suspects involved are still at large, and once they are arrested they will be charged with double murder.”
