PREVIEW: Prevent your children from becoming victims of crime

Have you seen this girl? Newcastle police are appealing to members of the public to come forth if they have any information pertaining to the whereabouts of 15-year-old Winnie Jennifer Isaacs from Siyahlala-la. Winnie was last seen on August 18 at around 7.30 am while on her way to school. Clothes worn at the time were her school attire (white shirt, grey pants and a blue jersey).

As parents, we get involved in our busy daily schedules.

We wake up, go to work, come home, cook and clean and often become unaware of what activities are taking place in the lives of our children.

Not being actively present in your child’s life can often leave them exposed to all types of dangers.

To ensure the maximum safety of our children, parents are urged to be vigilant at all times to avoid becoming victims of crime.

Communication with your children could be critical in the prevention of such incidents, and so is monitoring their access to the internet, with all its dangers.

If your child has gone missing, report it to the Newcastle SAPS immediately on 034 314 6158/9.
