SOCCER FANS: Watch veterans in action at over-50 tournament this weekend

Newcastle Legends has home field advantage for the tournament.

Soccer fans are in for a treat with the Over-50s Soccer Tournament this Saturday.

Veterans and legends of local soccer will be in action from 9am onwards, at Fernwood Sport Grounds.

The tournament pits 11 teams from across KwaZulu-Natal against one another for top honours.

Newcastle Legends is determined to seal its victory on home turf.

Team representative, Rammy Singh said players were geared up and looking forward to the challenge.

“There is currently only one over-50 team in Newcastle and previously we had to travel out of town to play.”

Having criss-crossed KZN to play matches, Newcastle Legends now has a home field advantage.

“The last time we played in Newcastle was in September 2016,” he said.

Soccer fans are urged to lend their support to Newcastle Legends throughout the tournament.
